About the Event

Call for Artists: Hispanic Heritage Month Exhibition:

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum invites local artists to participate in creating a community exhibition that celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting the richness and diversity of Hispanic culture through art. The community is invited to submit art pieces and artifacts that celebrate Latin and Hispanic cultural backgrounds.

LVNHM recognizes that Hispanic and Latin artists have been historically underrepresented, and we are committed to furthering inclusivity and equity in our gallery. We recognize that many distinct peoples and cultures exist within the broad nomenclature of ‘Hispanic’ and ‘Latin’ and wish to be inclusive of these cultures without being reductive. We encourage all artists who identify as Hispanic, Latinx, Chicanx, whose ancestors hail from Central or South America, Spain, Mexico, the Carribean, any of the indigenous tribes of South and Central America, or any other regions that identify with these cultures to apply.

The program is funded in part by a grant from Nevada Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

All submissions are due Monday, August 12, at 11:59 PM. Please refer to these links for more details:
